Last night lightning storms ravaged parts of NSW and much of QLD with SES volunteers out in force to help clean up. In Ballina my network switch was destroyed suddenly after a power surge and several office computers also refused to power up this morning. Conditions were ideal however, for photography. With no rain, and regular bright flashes every 30 seconds I managed to catch this image within 5 minutes of standing in the darkness. These boats are currently my neighbors, so I printed them all a copy of the photo, especially as one kind seaman had taken my washing off the line as the storm gathered earlier in the day.
