I picked up this ancient scroll from a small street stall in Kathmandu, Nepal. I was enchanted by its weathered pages, and mystical script. What secrets does it contain I wondered… maybe a lost gospel, or an important canonical translation or genealogy that would unravel the very foundations of modern christianity Da Vinci Code style .. or become the basis for new theological branches like the ”Book of Abraham” scrolls to mormonism (which were later translated properly and Joesph Smith’s hoax was revealed).

So as I gladly parted with my money under this romantic premise I asked the old man behind the counter what the document was. I was told rather anticlimactically that they were simple medical books printed in the 1950’s, and were really quite ordinary.

Oh well.. it didn’t stop Joseph Smith! I’m just going to tell everyone it’s a prophetic text that declares me ruler of the universe.
