A scavenger as well as a hunter, the Brahminy Kite is referred to as the ”Singapore Bald Eagle” north of Australia. It uses it talons to fish and collect food including frogs, insects, fish and more.
An opportunistic raptor this bird will purposely flush roosting shorebirds to identify the weak, follow fishing and food processing activity, and hunt on the outskirts of bushfires for fleeing animals.
