The Brown Thornbill is an elusive bird despite being relatively common in eastern NSW and Tasmania although its curiosity will help bring it closer with ”twitching” and squeaking noises. A proficient imitator, the Brown Thornbill can mimick the birdsong and calls of other species easily and is set apart from other thornbills by its striking red-brown coloring.
