People seem to refer to this as a Christmas Beetle, and it certainly has a nice shiny green shell that is quite striking however as a common name I believe it is widely applied to many beetles of similar appearance. Although this can’t be the same kind of Christmas Beetle they have on the other side of Australia, it still has a festive colour to it, and like the carol musak at your local department store, has arrived 2 months too early.
