One bite from the curl snake releases a paralyzing venom that in humans causes the lymphatic nodes to burst. One sedated, the skink in this photo is easily consumed head first and gradually swallowed until the tip of the tail disappears into the curl snakes mouth. Curl snakes are local only to the Murray-Darling basin.
