Mount Gauri Shankar, Melungtse and Chugimago are 7154, 7181 and 6297 meters high respectively. These giant peaks, including Everest, were formed as two continents ”slammed” into each other in the slow, geological sense, pushing the earth upwards. The ranges are still moving to this day by up to 2 cenimeters each year, and still growing taller by 5mm annually. As an active geological region, the valleys are subject to regular earthquakes and tremors.
