This dog resembles at least, the common Indian wild dog (Cuon alpinus), sometimes known as Dholes. A pack animal, they communicate with whistles to coordinate predatory strikes on potential meals and waste no time devouring their victories.
This domesticated dog however (probably not a Dhole), bears the typical Hindu red streak, often worn by Indian men and women with various meanings and intentions. Whether or not the actual dog is polytheistic, monotheistic or atheistic is unconfirmed however, and open to speculation.
