I walked around all day, up mountains, down mountains, through the resort, over ski areas, down slopes, up the car park and so on. I had an idea of where I wanted to take the sunset photo for that day, but knew that when it happened, and when the clouds and the sky finally showed me their intentions, that my preconceived idea of “a good spot” would change. Sure enough, the light and the clouds suddenly did this and I raced over the car park and down the alpine slopes until I hit a relatively sweet spot that allowed me to see it all without any interference from the ski park.
