Over time some people have said to me “What difference does it make if you photograph the sunrise or the sunset?” wondering why the effort to wake up in the darkness in order to capture the sunrise. At the very least, the sun is coming from an entirely different side of the sky thereby bathing the scene distinctly. The sun end throws up reds, oranges and mauves while the opposite end of the sky becomes pink, purple and blue as well. In this photo I woke early after camping out at the lake and walked across the dam wall taking different angles and slowly decreasing the exposure as the light increased.
