The Mac Book Pro is the first wave of intel-powered notebooks released by Apple. According to last quarter earnings (early 2006) the Mac Book has fueled the company’s 2nd largest profit ever despite the decline in iPod sales. As consumers become increasingly disilluioned with the microsoft status quo, the option to run windows as a secondary OS to ween themselves off their software dependancies and into OS X, the BSD unix based OS and windows manager that powers Apple Macintosh computers, is becoming increasingly popular.
As the first generation of pro notebooks however, they have not been without problems. Some users have reported discoloration of the plastic casing in the non-pro models, swelling batteries, random shutdowns and kernel panics when using wireless.
