“Almost 5,000 hectares of Nightcap National Park was given World Heritage status in 1989 when it was added to the Central Eastern Rainforest Reserves of Australia (CERRA) group.” – tropicalnsw.com.au
The view of the forest canopy here shows the dense tropical rainforest typical of northern NSW and Queensland. A great habitat for species found there such as Little bent-winged bat, Wompoo fruit-dove, Masked owl, Stephen’s banded snake and Red-legged pademelon. Apparently, Fleay’s barred frog and Coxen’s fig-parrot have also been recorded there.
I took this photo handheld from the lookout at the top of Minyon Falls and with a faster ISO, fast shutter (1/125) and a steady hand I managed to exposure the area underneath the passing cloud clearly. The other areas in sunlight appear a little washed out and some area of the original has been cropped away for that reason.
