This butterfly was found at Stradbroke Island near the ”conservation area” at Brown Lake. It was only spotted twice during a lengthy walk around the lake and settled a few times before continuing through the sparse bush.
A common but local species, the Orange Ochre underside has patterns nearly identical to the Brown Ochre so identification must be carefully made by the exact shade and colouring of the overall specimen.
