Despite the latin “tasmaniensis”, the spotted marsh frog is one of victorias most common frogs. It prefers wet areas, flood plains, damn and semi-permanent wetlands.
We found this one hopping along near the camp light, possibly attracted away from the watery edge by the the moths and other insects I was photographing at the time. This is also taken with a 300mm lens and reverse 50mm prime which has terribly shallow depth of field. I tried therefore to focus directly at the eye.
