A common wren in South East Australia, the Superb Blue males grow bright blue plumage during the summer months, which recedes later except in older males. They are known to court the females with offerings like small presentations of flowers, much like humans. Nests and breeding is a task shared among families of wrens and incestuous relations have been observed where a male or female wren dies and their position taken up by their children in order to continue maintaining the ”family nest”.
