The stormy and windy conditions coupled with the debris and floodwaters that have recently washed down the Richmond River has whipped the ocean foam into a large, seething, ominous bubble bath that has all but closed the local beaches. Though it was receding when I took this photo, it was still waist deep and felt rather warm to wade through. It left a thick muddy layer on anything it touched and blanketed the entire beach.
