Telling me much later that he ”had water in his eye” when this photo was taken, Beau is almost a cliche. He speaks quickly about superheroes and flies around the house at a million miles an hour, testing various objects at his height to see if they bounce, and insisting that several objects that don’t, actually do, repeatedly testing his hypothesis. While observing me take photos he develops an attachment to my camera, and not content with the quite functional Sony point-and-shoot I offer him, he tries the DSLR on for size. I follow him cautiously, hoping he doesn’t get the urge to see if it bounces.
