Two boys. I visited the village of the boy on the left and met his brother, a blind child in a lower-caste (dalit) village. Widowed, his mother lives with her aging mother and blind son in a small clay hut hardly tall enough to stand in. The Children of Mother Earth foundation identifies children such as these in need and offers them shelther, clothing, education and food without bias for gender, race, religion or caste. The boy on the right proudly holds his cricket bat, a national pastime in India and a hopeful sport for many poor children. Several of the kids I met there had never seen the technology I was carrying, but could name more players of the Australian cricket team than I could.
