Built in the unique Mughal style, this orphanage was constructed by Ravi Rai and the Children of Mother Earth foundation to shelter, feed and provide the most basic opportunity for the poorest children. In a caste society where social inequality is real and often impermeable barrier of classes, Ravi sought to build a shelter that honored the children. With marble floors and grand 3 story views looking out over the village, the poorest children are given the rare opportunity to take pride in where they live. 30-40 children live here at any one time and the foundation will shortly be allowing volunteers to stay there in return for helping with the work required to maintain the orphanage and its daily operations.
