Gecko’s are small reptiles not unlike skinks that have evolved pads on their hands allowing them to cling to the most precarious of surfaces. Marbled gecko’s can also be found in Melbourne but are thought to have been introduced to the area via granite supplies brought in from other parts of Victoria.

Variations of the marbled gecko occur throughout Australia and gecko’s in general are most prominent in urban areas in northern Australia, however this victorian, or southern marbled gecko is decorated with orange striations along its back and tail.
