This was one of the first photos I’d ever taken with my camera. I mounted the camera body on a tripod and put it on a cafe table. Then I took the right hand %70 of the photo and swivelled the camera around to the left to take the other 30%. I stitched them manually in photoshop.
I made my first big mistake that night, as I had left the settings on the camera (for image quality) set to low because of some experiment I had been doing the previous night. I was shocked to see such nice photos in such low quality resolution when I got home. Regardless, this image ended up being printed very large for the Speak Out exhibition, it appears quite grainy, but surprised me anyway. I think this is a successful image, it is balance and divided into thirds, some areas are dark, but as I did not use flash the lighting appears very natural and subdued.
