We got out of the car, we walked a few hundred meters and I stopped to take some awkward, unsuccessful photos of the storm by leaning on a tree. In moments the storm was upon as and large, cold drops of rain began to pelt the earth. Unknowingly, through sheer luck on my first photo, typically a test or exposure photo, I got this image. I have later cropped in a little and adjusted levels accordingly, but was unaware I’d captured lightning at all. Its not a great photo, but I like to look at it all the same. Albury has received more rain in the last week than many of the preceding months combined. It’s uncertain whether the ocean temperature’s recent return to normality is related to the late summer downpours.
