As the warm weather continues around the world, many countries watch as species flower sometimes weeks ahead of their usual schedule. Evolved to seed at seasonal cues, native grasses are no exception and the shifting weather pattern brings them to flower prematurely also. To their advantage however the seeds are released as the harsh dry heat turns the ground yellow. There they sit in the dust until the summer rains come to germinate the next generation.
