Sundews are a carnivorous plant whose sticky tendrils catch and dissolve small insects to supplement its diet, thus the tend to grow in the darker understory of the forest floor, although usually in moist conditions.
Drosera (genus) are found throughout the world, although the one pictured here (about 3-4mm across) is probably a native dwarf variety found in Beechworth and much of Victoria.
