This kind of Spider orchid only flowers during two weeks of the year, so I was happy to find them in full bloom. Tourists walked the path from Ingram’s rock unawares of the evolutionary treasures dotted throughout the forest floor. About 35 mm across, the spider orchid pollination process does involve arachnids, but it is also understood to involve wasps.
