My goal for this photo was to resolve Carina’s famous star, Eta Carinae in a way to show its binary shell (Homunculous Nebula) that surrounds the star, but also the hydrogen ring that surround the outburst itself. This is very hard to do since the whole emission is hydrogen and the outer region and the star itself need to be separately exposed.
