It’s nice to be back in the observatory with some clear weather! And by that, I mean, inside with a glass of wine while I push buttons and listen to the faint whizzing and whirring of the telescope dome in my backyard. This time I’ve gone back to M17, the Omega Ω nebula, so called because of its arcing shape. Though this nebula has a bunch of different common names because it looks like something different to everyone. Cropped this way, it looks a bit like a lioness to me. What do you think?
