For tonight’s lunar eclipse my goal was to capture totality and the star field around the moon while it was dim enough to reveal. As a bonus, Uranus is shown as a bright blue point of light to the right of the moon towards the edge of frame. Taken with a stacked image of the moon (30s) and a single 4s exposure of the star field and composite in high dynamic range. I was also careful to show the naturally blueish tinge in the deeper shadow of the Earth that separates from the reds thrown off closer to the transient terminator. Taken with a Skywatcher 82ED (530mm), Star Adventurer GTI, QHY247C with Sharpcap. Processed in Auto Stakkert 3, PixInsight and Photoshop.
