Wherever you are on Earth, you can probably see this without special equipment. A pair of binoculars will do. Find the line of 3 stars “Orion’s Belt” and then the other other 3 nearby (Orion’s Sword) and the middle of those is actually this big bright cloud. If you do have special equipment though, it’s an easy target to photograph with basically anything it’s so big and bright. If you are compensating for something and have a really big piece of equipment, you can push right into it’s misty peaks and exploit those luscious folds.
