If the constellation Scorpio looks vaguely like a scorpion to you (with a bit of imagination) then this collection of stars is the sting in the tail. With even modestly long exposures, this massive and colourful dark nebula cloud complex is revealed. It’s a favourite for photographers as it’s huge in the sky, so really doesn’t even need a telescope to see. This image would fit 20 full moons top to bottom!
