People often ask me if I ever see UFOs when I’m imaging space and I say – “All the time. Almost every second photo.” That was literally true for this particular session where the Rosette Nebula was moving right along the celestial equator. Or more precisely, the earth was rotating and these geosynchronous satellites – the kind that hover in the same point in the sky so you can point your tv satellite dish at them – would appear to zip across my 90 second exposures. It was so bad I had to throw away all these frames, but stitched together in sequence like this you get a nice movie of the nebula drifting through our earthly halo of technology and communications – hovering above us constantly.
