I’ve been taking photos of Cent A for years, but this year was different. Using 20-minute long hydrogen exposures I was able to reveal the ring of nebulosity properly. When you look at this galaxy, it’s really hard to see what’s going on – but I finally get it, and I understand its shape now. I’ve done a deep dive that explains what I mean, the mysteries of Cent A, and even the possible corpse of the dwarf galaxy it murdered recently. It’s (possibly) been right in front of us this whole time!
Take a deep dive with me in this nerdy ass video : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EMwACo9Oe3Y
Also, I’m sharing this as a high quality 4096px image file, so it’s big enough to zoom in or use as a higher resolution wallpaper if you like!
