Last night I tried something different and did a “Live broadcast” using Google Hangouts from my telescope! Several friends jumped on to watch as I imaged Jupiter and checked out the craters on the moon. This Jupiter image is “First light” with my new QHY5L-II CMOS planetary camera. No barlow, 9.25″ SCT. 250 Frames stacked in Autostakkert.
Right hand image is a regular Canon 70D DSLR with 50mm lens which was still enough to clearly resolve the moons even against the 96% full moon’s dominating light and scattered clouds. #astrophotography
