This was the best astrophoto I was able to image last weekend, and I’m really happy with the low noise and high clarity from this amazingly bright nebula. 24 x 2 minute exposures (48 minutes) of RGB data from my cooled QHY12 CCD camera. This giant interstellar cloud is about 4000-6000 light years away from earth and quite large in the sky, which is probably why it was discovered way back in the 1600s !
24 x 120s / f2 Hyperstar / UHC filter / QHY12 CCD @ -15c / Acquired and Stacked in Nebulosity.
