Although there is less colour dynamism when viewed in “natural” colour which is very red-dominant compared to the classic Hubble-palette, the sharp details within M16 never fail to impress. Like many nebula it has a bright inner core area but the star forming pillars of dust and gas in the centre structure here are always incredible to look at.
