The beautiful duality of the “Trifid” nebula, where two stars and two dust and gas clouds produce two completely different colours. The red cloud is energised by it’s young star’s ionsation, while the blue cloud is illuminated by the sheer heat and brightness of it’s hotter blue star. The interplay between the faint red and blue in the outer darkness is absolutely stunning. 140 minutes integration time with Celestron Edge HD 9.25″ SCT, UHC Filter, Hyperstar3 Lens & QHY12 One Shot Colour RGB CCD Camera @ -15 degrees Celsius.
