I’ve seen the aurora australis only once in these skies. Being too close to the equator prevents such phenomena from occuring without large solar storms. The gentle drift of the clouds however, when captured on a long exposure, are hauntingly beautiful and are not without aesthetic merit themselves. I’ll have to make do at least until Sol decides to throw some electrons into the Australian night sky.
