This faint and curious part of deep space was dubbed the “War and Peace” nebula because of two main features that look like a dove and a skull, apparently. My 1 minute exposures are not enough to pull out that kind of detail I’m afraid! I’m still working on my alignment procedures and this was the best I could do with some guided and some unguided exposures stacked together in Nebulosity.
Nebulas are “star nurseries” where dust and gas coalesce into new born stars. Once you know this, it’s really obvious when you look at these images, and see the clusters of bright new stars floating out around the shining cosmic clouds.
