Went aurora chasing (nothing in Byron on the second night of the mega storm) but am thankful it prompted a trip to the cape. It’s my favourite place for watching the Milky Way rise straight out of the horizon and over me. This region is tipped by Carina at the peak, then the “Dark Emu” nebulas. The bright core of the Milky Way will follow soon after.
