I heard you like craters dawg so I put some craters in your craters! That recursive crater is called Clavius. In 2001 A Space Odyssey this is where the moon base is located and the monolith (TMA-1) appears at Tycho. It was taken earlier this week when the terminator shadow was angled nicely in order to see the details on this edge.
Unfortunately the weather prevented any good shots of the “Blood Moon” total lunar eclipse from Byron Bay this week. The moonrise was beautiful in it’s own way, and I managed to get a quick photo of the beginning as the earth’s shadow moved in, but the main event was not visible.
